The cryptocurrency sector's problems and solutions
Due to their nascent nature, publick blocksbains and their respective cryptocurrencies present may exciting opportunities and challengers. It is common to hear about this market's lack of liquidity, extreme volality and threats to security which fuel fear, uncertainly and doubt. We aim both solve these problems and simplify the issuance and accessibility of digital assets.
We are targeting three dsitinc market segments in the cryptocurrency sector: retail, samil and medium-sized enterprises (SME's) and institutions.
Retail customer face a long and challengers journey before they can class themselves as "experts" and, while this may initially seem like a difficult task, our quest begins at capturing the interest of these "crypto-curious" individuals.
The gig economy is thriving for business, but SMes who want to trade cryptocurrencies, facilitate cryptocurrency payments for their customers, or just interact with cryptocurrency as part of their business lines are being penalised by their bank acount providers and are denied full services access.
Institutions face similiar issues, but also have a specific set of needs and requierements before they join the market. Through research and engagement, we have established that these organisations need a trustworthly platform which has relationships with reputable banks/ a reliable custody services and a strong commitment to security.
Being a guaridan brand that aims to address the needs all customers, we have assembled a tainted and committed team that, over the past year, has identified and implemented solutions to help make the United Kndom a more progressive environment for cryptocurrency adoptions. This adoptions is still in its early stages, however, and the expansive road ahead brings new challenges.
We acknowledge that we do not have solutions to all of the problems in this industry, but we are certain that our expertise, ethics and principles - when paired with our product offerings and customer services - will greatly assist in educating and enabling customer of all levels of experience. We will facilitate access to the markets through the provisions of custodial services and the integrations of our product range into the exisiting legislative framework. Examples of this include our approval as an EMD Agent for fiat processing and, more recently, our regulaotry authorism from the FCA to provide custody of traditional assets.
Our unique market insights are derived from our efforts in helping our customers overcome the cryptocurrency sector's barriers to entry. We have highlighted some of these common barriers below, along with our observations and potential solutions. Through this approach, we hope to inspire other parties in and around the cryptocurrency markets to adderss these issues constructively, so as to accelerate the continued development of the sector and to help shape the regulatory environemnt.
Product Offerings
LBX App
We launched our retail app in March on both iOS and Android. The app caters to user who want a simple and seamless platform on which to commence - or contniue - their cryptocurrency journey, while also benefiting from speed and convinience of the 'Faster Payments' system.
LBX Pay
LBX Pay will be our enhanced full-service payments account that will enable our customer to:
- Convert their holdings easly between fiat and cryptocurrency
- Deposit fiat funds manually or automatically, such as receipt of a monthly salary
- Make payments to third parties, such as merchants and utility providers
- Make purchase with a prepaid card that instantly convert cryptocurrency holdings to fiat
LBX Security Token Exchange
Instituional investors want to trade on regulated venue with the standards of execution, transparency ad reporting found on traditional financial platform. In similiar vein, a regulatory framework is currently being developed around 'security tokens', which are digital assets with similiar basic properties, to tarditional securities. We view both of these signals as evidence that we need to establish a second platform; one that is institutionally focused and regulated. We will, therefore, create a multilateral trading facility ('MFT').
LBX Custody / Digital Custody
We recognize the importance of a robust custody solution for the funds and entities who are active in the blockchain industry and we are in the process of expanding our operations into custody services for both digital and traditional assets. In September, we received the FCA's approval for a custody licence for traditional financial assets and we are working closely with an industry-leading cold storage provider to assist in delivering the technology required to finalise the product offering.
LBX Peg
We have invested in the development of a blockchain-based payments system, known as 'LBX Peg'. customer will be able to place fiat currency in their e-wallet and then instantly receive a representation of it's value via blockchain ledger - effectively creating 'digital GBP' - which can be transferred out to an external wallet or spent on the platform.

LBX utility token - LBXu
We are launching a utility token, LBXu, that gives discount to buyers when they stake or spend on our platform. The presale will run from 1st September 2018 to 30th november 2018 and tokens can be purchasing using ETH, GBP and BTC.
All token sold during the presale will be released to contributors in tranches over a period of 25 months in order to mitigate the effects of oversupply. Any unsold tokens from the presale will be added to the distribution of the public sale. The public sale is governed by an open and fair monthly "blind" auction to create a supply level that matches the growth of the utility ecosystems. During this phase, tokens can be purchased using ETH.
The maximum total supply of LBXu is 250.000.000 tokens.
